Maintenance

After the Pax returned from the dry dock, it was time to sand and paint the mast and give the roof a new coat of tar.

In July, Arie and I sanded the mast and the 'giek'.

In September, Arno helped me tar the roof ('luikenkap'). This is the result.

Pax goes to dry dock Vooruit in Zaandam

The Pax was towed to Zaandam once again for maintenance of its underbelly. On this occasion Ria Touset-Boode and her husband Casper joined us. Ria was born on the Pax and brought some more old photos. Also with us was David Leonardi, the present tenant. Click on this link:

Getting the Pax ready for new tenants

After the last tenants left, it was time to clean, tidy up, and replace a few items.

New pans, new deck chairs, new dining chairs and new pots.

New old photos

The widow of Jan, who I bought the Pax from, sent me some old photos that shed new light on life on the Pax in the past. The photos show the Bode family on the Pax while it was carrying goods through the Netherlands.
